OFFERING A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE
Southern UAV, LLC is based in the beautiful rolling hills of Northeast Georgia, just north of Carnesville.
Our area of excellence is small unmanned aerial vehicle operations, commonly known as drones. We offer a broad spectrum of optical services including visual inspection, videography, photography, mapping, data analysis, and editing.

Southern UAV is owned and operated by James McFarlin, an experienced pilot who is FAA Certified under Part 107 for commercial operations of small unmanned aerial vehicles and holds a North Carolina DOT permit for commercial UAV operations. McFarlin is the Chief Pilot for Southern UAV.
He is a seasoned nuclear inspector with certifications and training through the Edison Power Research Institute and the American Society for Nondestructive Testing. He also holds a Georgia Fire Academy certification as a firefighter and fire instructor, with over 27 years as a volunteer for his community. His interests in UAV technology was sparked by the potential application in both the inspection and public safety sectors.
